JoJo Drops Full Version of Her Teena Marie ‘Square Biz’ Cover [Video]

Everybody get up!

Just days after teasing music lovers with her take on one of Teena Marie‘s greatest hits, ‘Square Biz,’ powerhouse vocalist JoJo is making it her business to roll out the full version of her cover.

Lifted to her official YouTube handle Tuesday (September 27), her rocking rendition comes as calls continue to grow for her to not only cover more of Lady T’s iconic tunes but also portray the late diva in a biographical film – an undertaking the 31-year-old has previously indicated she is more than ‘open to.’

Until updates arrive on that hopeful movie venture, look inside to hear Jo jam to ‘Biz.’

As of time reported, JoJo has not indicated if the cover is attached to a larger project.

Jojo is that girl… The girl you hire to do covers. She’s a karoake/wedding singer.

JoJo is a lovely vocalist but didn’t do Lady T any justice with this cover…no shade!! Everything isn’t for everyone. Teenas songs are difficult to tackle.

It’s a no for me. JoJo should stick with whatever it is that she does.

    I like it.

Nice try, JoJo, but stick to your originals. Covering Teena is not for the ordinarily skilled…

Now I may be slightly biased whereas I ‘ve been a JoJo fan since she started her music career. I don’t believe this young lady has been given the props she deserves. I would love to see JoJo try her skills at portraying the one and only Lady T in a Bio-mentary or on the silver screen. I believe JoJo possess not only the vocal capacity but she can also pull off the “Look.” I would give her a shot. She at least deserves such an opportunity. If she can’t pull it off, I’m sure the professionals will let her know. I wouldn’t count her out quite yet though. I enjoyed the cover quite frankly.

I beg the question, If not JoJo then Who? Keeping in mind that the person chosen will also have to make it “believable.” Therefore, appearance, resemblance, all that has to be a deciding factor. The audience has to “believe” they are watching and listening to good ole Lady T.
